Wall Patches
The patches are a non-permeable "plastic" cloth with an
adhesive on one side and a small spray on stiffening agent.
The cloth is unrolled, the covering removed from the adhesive
and the patch applied. Then you "squirt" the stiffening agent
onto the cloth to harden it. It can be removed with a special
solvent (packaged with the patch and stored in engineering). The Large and Small Patches can cover up to 400cm x 400cm holes. The Mini Patch can cover up to 80cm x 80 cm holes. Any patch can be folded (to cover one quarter of the normal area) and will last 150% longer (ie, a mini wall patch that lasts 5 hours will last 12 and 1/2 hours).
Large Wall Patches - Full Size Good for 7 days Applying a Mini patch is an Average task of Ship's Engineering and can be completed by one person. Alternately, Agility can be used to avoid an unskilled penalty with a DM of -1. The task takes 1D6 + 14 minutes. Doubling the time lowers the difficulty one level. Because of the nature of the interaction between the adhesive and stiffener, the time cannot be any slower. Performing the task during decompression raises the task two difficulty levels. Applying a Small or Large is an Average task but requires two crewmembers. Performing the task alone raises the difficulty one level. The same time constraints apply. If the task is performed alone, the time is doubled and cannot be performed any slower for difficulty level decreases. |
